Seasonal bribing

I spent the day running around, doing errands. I do not want to be doing any work this weekend. My older brother and younger sister are in, and I'd like to spend some time with them.

So, I hard boiled 36 eggs, dyed them all, and broke only three. Then, I cooked the pineapple pudding that my Mom has every year, but I never eat. Then I made the desserts for the kids, because I know they won't like the lemon cake I made.

I also dusted, blah, blah, laundry, blah.... Lastly, I stuffed the crap plastic Easter eggs with jelly beans. The baskets are freshly packed with new, organicly dyed Easter basket grass.

After serving dinner and then cleaning up after the sloppy, thankless bastards, I decided to congradulate myself.

With all of their Easter candy. All of it.

Ha! Take that!

Yeah, I know, the candy stash needs to be replenished by Sunday, but I'm not worried.

We have two Easter parties tomorrow. They will get candy tomorrow, and I will simply put it in their baskets to find again on Sunday. Brilliant.

*A note on the Easter picture above: Mark and I took the kids to Harley Davidson because the bunny would be there for free pictures. As you can see, or can't- Jordan hated him, and promptly went into a hate-induced seizure. Dylan didn't mind sitting on the biker-in-the-bunny's lap, just as long as he got something. Please see how he made sure we held up to our end of the deal before sitting on his lap. Also, Dylan obviously doesn't trust anything with less than three distinct and definitive fingers on each hand. He never took his eyes off of them.

If only all our mothers had a blog and digital camera to follow our lives as we grew up ...
and with the finesse & style as you do with yours Sarah.
It really is a treat to come visit you.

HA! Sarah - guess how many years in a row I bought candy for Easter (and Christmas and Halloween...), ate it all, then returned to the store to replenish? Seriously, what a relief to know candy-induced comas are not isolated to me ;)

One year, we took our son to see the Power Ranger Easter bunny...yeah, it's hard to trust those monstrous hands!

Sarah: How in the hell do you manage? You make me tired just reading about the things you do. And I love lemon cake.

bren- My mom took a billion pictures while we grew up. I get that from her. Blogging- well, that's for my family and my own sanity. Validation, I guess. Thank you.

Indigo- Hi. My name is Sarah, and I eat all my children's candy with little to no guilt. You have no idea how happy I was to see I am not alone. And, um- Power Ranger Easter Bunny- what the hell is that?

Jock- drugs. Big handfulls of them. I washed them down with Red Bull. And jelly beans. Really, it's not that bad. I am very good at embellishing. Your cake will arrive in two business days.
