Weekend Update

The kids have a billion toys. In order to keep my house from looking like a preschool, I have a huge basket in the living room for them to toss their toys into. The basket rests along one of the walls. You can imagine what the wall behind the toy box looked like after years of toys bouncing off of it. Mark patched the wall, and we decided to just paint the living room again. I took a sample of paint to Home Depot, and picked out a color that I thought looked just like the original. We bought three gallons and got to work. After I saw one wall painted, I had a complete and utter meltdown. "Oh my GOD! It's HORRID! What the hell kind of color is that!? Oh, I haaaaaaaate it. I can't deal with this right now, Mark. Do something."

Mark, sounding like a 911 operator, stayed calm and let me know what steps could be taken from there. We could take the paint back, have them add color to it to match the original color or a darker one of my choosing, or I could just deal with it.

Two Midols and one hour later, I told him to just go with the color we bought. I mean, it's not that bad, right? It's a big difference, but I'm a big girl.

Mark finished the living room, and I realized that the room looked absolutely no different. In reality, I went from a off-white with peach undertones to a cream with a nutmeg undertone. Not that big of a difference after all. Nobody even noticed that it was different. Spaz.

All of our friends have finally passed the "getting engaged and married" stages, thank God. No more weddings for some time.... The next stage is the "turning 30 and need to reproduce" stage. That basically means that I have many baby showers to attend, and many more Yager Bombs to drink. We went out to celebrate our friend's 30th this weekend. I realized one reeeealy wonderful thing about losing my license: I never have to be designated driver. It's payback for the 18 months I drove Mark. HAHAHAHA! I wasn't laughing the next morning, I can assure you.

This week I have nothing more than planned other than online shopping and laundry.

That sounds like a tough week, everything except for the on-line shopping.

And you can almost taste your disapointment at not being able to drive in that photo.
