saturday

In a moment I forget about making sure that the whites are separate from the darks, buying bulk-sized ketchup so I don't run out when I need it, having a new dress for that wedding coming up, worrying those two nails that have chipped nail polish, being upset that my hair is a hot mess once I got rain on it...

Funny how I make lists to prioritize things that need to be done each day. Everything has its place. Everything has an order to it. I like to believe that my life is predictable. One lesson I learn over and over is that no matter how many lists I make, no matter how many things get done, life has a way of showing me who's really running the show.

At 2:49am on Saturday morning, life handed us a messy package. Considering the circumstances around it, we should be thankful.

I can't think straight enough to make a list today. My nails will have to wait.

Ok I'm pretty sure you're supposed to tell us what that "messy package" is, aren't you?

Yes it does. Plan we must, but always with that little subject to change without notice proviso in the fine print.

That you are a list maker speaks volumes of how you must react to life delivering a messy package. You sound like me!
Oh to be in control...
You have little ones, that teaches a "go with the flow" attitude doesn't it?

Did your cat have kittens? (Do you even have a cat? :) )

Wait, I see a betta in your sidebar, but I doubt that Bettas are noisy enough in their egg-laying to cause a ruckus at 2 something am. Baby on the doorstep? Drunken sister on the doorstep? Frozen tree limb through the roof?

I'm hearing ominous thumps and bangs outside. Some trees have fallen in the woods from all the ice. I'm curious what's happening out there now, though. Hope it's not a messy package headed my way. . .

I'm just going to keep babbling until you spill it about that package, so when you're ready for me to shut up, just come out with it. . .

Blue- the "go with the flow" thing can be better translated to "go with a roll of paper towels with you" when concerning my kids.

Candace- no cats...yet. I'm trying to convince the husband. No babies of any species. Sister is five hours away. Always frozen limbs on my roof.

I can't go into it for a variety of reasons. Not to mention, this is all about ME right? ME ME ME me me me. Kidding, kidding.

But seriously, I can't get into it, so everyone will just have to be quasi-satisfied with my reaction posting to the situation.

I do appreciate the concern.
