Where's My Belt?

The class picture- half the kids are saying pizza, and the other half is staring blankly. This is Dylan’s “bored” look.
After taking a look at the incredibly expensive pictures, and gushing to Dylan about how awesome they are, the teacher says to me, “Uh, Dylan’s mom, I need to talk to you outside, please.”
I swear- the feeling never goes away. Maybe it’s because I’m not that far removed from school, but when a teacher needs to speak with me in the hall I always get the same reaction. Every time.
I changed my pants and joined her in the hall. She told me that Dylan was uncontrollable today. He refused to sit on the alphabet rug, and got into a fight on the playground. He was also

Hmm, sounds oddly similar to what I did this morning.

Picture day was always so out of control. I think jumping off the chairs at snack time sounds kind of fun. I hear you about teachers. I got the request for the annual parent/teacher meeting today. I just now unballed myself out of the corner! :-)
Hey, you know what I'd do? lock him in his room...but then again that why I'm not a parent.
I LOVE THE CLASS PHOTO. Dylan looks bored and absolutely pissed that he had to stop analyizing the physics book in the corner to take a photo. but the other one is really sweet...even if you say it's out of focus.
all I'm really saying is I love you and you're the best damn mother in the world. everyone needs to act up in school every now and again...you sure did.
At least he's too young for acne - my face seemed to KNOW when it was picture day! (I actually like the mid-"pizza" smile...kind of a smirk).
Of course, you know who I would think would be a BETTER school photographer...ehem.
