Pyrex Bowl in Green, No. 403

I have a favorite bowl. It's the ugliest bowl I have ever seen. It came from my great grandmother not too long before she passed away.

The bowl used to be green. It's considered a collectors item for people who obsess about Pyrex, and lets face it- who doesn't obsess over Pyrex? It originated in the 1950's, and was featured on a Martha Stewart show.

There's hardly anything left to the original color. It's obvious that it has been used a million times. Every time I use it I wonder what kind of delicious foods were prepared with it, where she kept it in her kitchen, and whether or not she saw it as a "collectors item," a prized possesion, or just another bowl.

It's the perfect size bowl. It doesn't matter what I am cooking, the ingredients always seem to fit just right. This is the bowl I use every Christmas for cookies which I make for my entire family. It ends up totaling to about sixteen dozen cookies. Ba humbug!

I wonder if she really pondered over who was going to be the new owner of this beloved bowl, or whether she just said, "Screw it, Sarah doesn't cook anyway."

In any case, there she is, in all her glory, my prized collector's edition Pyrex Bowl in Green, No. 403. Try not to be too jealous.

If I can't fit 16 lbs of popcorn in it for dinner, I'm just not interested ;)
